Fred Bell has devoted 24 years to the practice of criminal law. During those years Mr. Bell has appeared in almost every higher Court in the State of Michigan, including 7 appearances before the Michigan Supreme Court and hundreds in the Court of Appeals. Mr. Bell founded his practice on the belief that every citizen is entitled to zealous advocacy and a full and fair hearing on the State’s criminal allegations.

Mr. Bell is a graduate of the Thomas M. Cooley Law School, and Michigan State University. Upon his graduation from law school Mr. Bell served as an Assistant Defender for the State Appellate Defender Office. During his legal career Mr. Bell spent 2 years as a Lecturer in Law at the University of Michigan Law School, and has often served the Thomas M. Cooley Law School as an Adjunct Professor of Criminal Appellate Practice. Mr. Bell was also appointed to the State Bar’s Standing Committee on Criminal Jury Instructions, and is a former elected council member of the State Bar’s Appellate Practice Section. Mr. Bell has also been a lecturer/instructor for various criminal defense organizations, including the Wayne County Advocacy Program, Michigan Assigned Appellate Counsel System, the Wisconsin Public Defender Office, and the Kent County Bar Association.

Mr. Bell is married and has 2 daughters. His youngest teaches school in Plymouth, Michigan. His oldest is attending Marquette Law School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin
