United States Government Dismisses Bank Robbery Charges

By Michael Nichols
Categories: Michael J. Nichols

The United States Government has dismissed a bank robbery charge against a Nichols Law Firm client. “The DNA was an issue,” said attorney Mike Nichols. The dismissal Order issued by Judge Paul Maloney in Kalamazoo on September 9 was without prejudice, which means that the United States Attorney can re-file the charge. “I suspect that the government will be back if a new DNA test shows that there is enough evidence to try to link our client to the case,” added Mr. Nichols. Bank Robbery is a serious criminal offense and a federal offense as well. “Our client faced over 10 years in prison,” said Mr. Nichols. He added: “A dismissal from the United States is rare but we’ll see where this matter goes from here.”
