By Michael Nichols
Categories: Michael J. Nichols

An Ingham County Judge assigned as a 1 person grand jury to investigate political crimes in West Michigan faces charges of bias from a Republican State Senator - and Mike Nichols of East Lansing has come to her defense. "When long-time friend Tim Skubick asked me to comment on behalf of Judge Aquilina, my first thought was that she tries hard to be fair and no one has presented evidence in any ruling by her that she has been anything but," said Nichols.

Nichols added, that the claims by Republican Senator Jones drip with irony: "here is a guy who is a former sheriff who constantly preaches self-responsibility and accountability. Now, when it seems like his party looks bad because its leader is under attack, he wants to divert attention to the judge reviewing the issue and away from the issue itself."
