Michigan OUID-OUIL-Drunk Driving Attorney, Mike Nichols of East Lansing Teaches Courts About the Meaning of Blood Tests

By Michael Nichols
Categories: Michael J. Nichols

Mike Nichols of East Lansing successfully suppressed a blood test by the Michigan State Police lab that claimed to detect accurately and reliably the presence of marijuana in a client’s blood sample. Nichols called an expert witness in the field of metrology (the science of measuring things) to educate the court on how gas chromatography/mass spectrometry function. The court ruled that the questions raised were not sufficiently answered by lab supervisor Geoff French from the Michigan State Police. A full excerpt of the redacted opinion is here.
