The best drunk driving defense attorneys in the nation converge on Boston in late July every year and Mike Nichols and Wendy Schiller Nichols of East Lansing are among them in 2013. The National College for DUI Defense holds the annual summer session at the campus of Harvard Law School this year from July 25-27. Nichols is the Michigan delegate to the NCDD.

"This is one of the greatest seminars I ever attended on trial skills - let alone defending DUI and DUID charges in a courtroom," Nichols says. Nichols has been a member of the NCDD for over 6 years and became a sustaining member in 2012. He adds: "the session is intense, the setting and the emphasis has everyone charged up for learning and re-charging our batteries to give citizens accused of drinking or drugged driving the most effective zealous defense possible."

This will mark Nichols' 3rd summer session. Joining Nichols is his partner and wife Wendy Schiller Nichols of Meridian Township. Schiller-Nichols joined the NCDD as a general member in 2013. She says "I am pleased to be a member of the college and continue to learn and work to bring effective trial skills to courtrooms around Michigan to be the best drunk driving defense attorney I can be."

Mike Nichols recently completed drafting his update for the 2013 OWI practice book for Michigan lawyers published by Thompson Reuters West. Cooley Law School's Lansing campus also invited him to teach Michigan DUI Law and Practice for the Michaelmas 2013 term.
