Want to Find Out What It Means to Be Committed to Results? Josh Covert Gets 2 Dismissals In Battle Creek and East Lansing in 1 Day

By Michael Nichols

Nichols Law Firm attorney Joshua Covert recently had a day to remember: and you can bet his clients did as well. Covert, of East Lansing had two court appearances scheduled for the same day and was able to each case dismissed. He first appeared for a trial at the 54b district court. The prosecuting attorney wasn't able to proceed with the case due to a lack of evidence and the case was dismissed. Covert then went to the Calhoun County District court in Battle Creek for a probable cause exam. The prosecuting attorney in this case also dismissed when their witnesses did not show up. "Today's results really show the benefit of holding the prosecuting attorney to their burden of proof. It is important to have an attorney who is able to assess the evidence and the strength of a prosecutor's case. Each of my clients was offered a reasonable plea given the charge but we felt that if we pushed for a trial the result would be even better than a plea."

Mike Nichols, founder of the Nichols Law Firm, trial attorney and adjunct professor of forensic evidence in criminal cases and DUI Law and Practice, says: since finishing with the best exam in the very first DUI Law and Practice course I taught, serving as my second chair for a trial in which we obtained a not guilty verdict then becoming part of the Nichols Law Firm family, Josh has blow me away with his willingness to stand up to the prosecutors and go to trial when necessary. This was an incredible day that I wish I could have shared with him but I was in my own trial. All I can say is that I am not surprised at all."
