Major Drug Charges Dismissed for Nichols Law Firm Client

By Michael Nichols
Categories: Drug Crimes

Attorney Brendon Basiga was able to force a dismissal in a major drug case, based on the People’s inability to produce the necessary witnesses at a preliminary hearing.  The client had been investigated by several law enforcement agencies throughout Michigan.  The Prosecutors authorized a charge against the client, but did not have enough testimony to carry it forward.  Although the Prosecutors were requesting that the hearing be delayed in order to give them more time to prepare, Basiga argued that his clients rights take precedence over the Prosecutor’s unpreparedness.  The Judge agreed with Basiga, and the case was dismissed.
