A Nichols Law Firm client was recently sentenced by a federal judge to the least amount of prison time out of all of the co-defendants in a drug conspiracy in West Michigan. "This was a difficult challenge because our client was the last defendant who was indicted and everyone was pointing the finger at him," said Mike Nichols.  The key to the case was extensive work with the federal sentencing guidelines and using recent Supreme Court caselaw to argue sucessfully for a lenient sentence, according to Nichols.  The case arose from a major federal drug bust in the spring of 2007.  The client, who is from Texas, will also be allowed to serve his time as close to his hometown as possible based on the judge's recommendation.
