A convicted prostitute and drug addict admitted in Ingham County Circuit Court on Friday, July 21, 2006 that she suffered from memory problems and was taking medication when she talked to investigators and testified about Lisa Holland’s jailhouse confession.

Crystal Mountain testified in a Hearing at which defense attorneys asked that her testimony be suppressed because Mountain cannot differentiate what came from police reports that she stole from Ms. Holland’s cell and what came from conversations with Ms. Holland. Mountain admitted that she stole a packet of documents from Ms. Holland’s jail cell and shared “about half” with a fellow inmate under examination from defense attorney Mike Nichols. Judge Paula Manderfield allowed the Hearing to go forward despite objections from prosecutors that it was unnecessary. Manderfield also ruled at the end of the Hearing that Mountain may testify at trial about Holland’s statements to her.

Lisa Holland and her husband, Tim, are both charged with Open Murder and Child Abuse 1st Degree in the death of their son, Ricky. The trial is scheduled to begin on September 11, 2006. You can read more on this Motion by going to www.lsj.com and clicking on archives for July 22, 2006.
