Grace A. Palmer joined the Nichols Law Firm in May 2026. Her background is in family law, particularly divorce and custody matters.

Grace graduated summa cum laude from Western Michigan University in 2022 with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a minor in Criminal Law, finishing her undergraduate studies one year early. During her undergraduate studies, Grace was an intern for Judge Curtis J. Bell of the 9th Circuit Court of Michigan, where she gained invaluable courtroom exposure.

Grace went on to attend the University of Toledo College of Law, where she graduated magna cum laude with her Juris Doctor degree in May 2025. During law school, she served on the University of Toledo Law Review, Board 56 as a Note and Comment Editor, chaired the Student Development Committee for the Student Bar Association, and participated in the Women’s Law Student Association. In addition to her coursework, Grace completed a judicial externship with the Honorable James R. Knepp, II of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio.

During law school, Grace earned the highest-ranking student award in four courses: Contracts II, Criminal Procedure: Investigations, Seminar: Jurisprudence and Modern Legal Thought, and Advanced Evidence. She also consistently earned Dean’s List honors every semester during her law school career. Her academic achievements culminated in her induction into the Order of the Coif, an honor reserved for graduates in the top 10% of their law school class. In addition, Grace is a recipient of the Dean’s Scholarship for academic excellence from the University of Toledo College of Law.

Grace is a member in good standing of the State Bar of Michigan. She is also a member of the Family Law,
Children’s Law, Probate and Estate Planning, and Young Lawyers sections of the State Bar of Michigan.
