Domestic Violence is the broad term that covers all types of assault and battery allegations involving spouses; current or past boyfriends/girlfriends; children and parents; people with children in common or other types of domestic relationships. It is a serious charge. Often the judge will order special conditions of bond that include a prohibition against contact with the alleged victim. This provision is also called a "no contact" provision. If this special bond condition is imposed on you, make sure to follow it until/unless the judge modifies the provision to allow for contact.
