Stephanie Tzafaroglou is the driving force behind the litigation practice that has set precedent and turned desperate situations into winning cases. She is the leading drafter of most motion practice at the Nichols Law Firm. She focuses her practice on criminal law, family law, estate planning, and appellate practice. Stephanie attended the University of Michigan- Ann Arbor with a double concentration in English and Communication Studies. She graduated from the University of Michigan in May 2010 with high honors. After her undergraduate education, she attended the Thomas M. Cooley Law School. Stephanie graduated from Cooley magna cum laude in May 2013, finishing in the top 4% of her class.

While in law school, Stephanie earned a place on the Dean’s List and Honor Roll every semester. She also received Certificates of Merit for Torts, Civil Procedure, Contracts, and Drunk Driving Law and Practice. Additionally, Stephanie served as a Senior Associate Editor for both the Thomas M. Cooley Law Review and Journal of Practical and Clinical Law. Stephanie began working at the Nichols Law Firm in May 2011 as a law clerk for attorney Mike Nichols. As a law clerk, she worked on his criminal cases, with an emphasis on alcohol related offenses in Ingham County primarily but throughout Michigan, from start to finish: filing initial pleadings, obtaining discovery materials, reviewing discovery, and participating in trial preparation and plea negotiations. She authored motions, briefs, and appeals that led to the successful resolution of criminal charges in both state and federal courts. She further conducted legal extensive research and drafted pleadings in the areas of medical marijuana law, family law, and Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) law.

In addition to clerking at the Nichols Law Firm, Stephanie interned at the Prehearing Division of the Michigan Court of Appeals in 2013. Stephanie drafted research memoranda and proposed opinions and orders for Court of Appeals judges for criminal and civil cases. Stephanie also had the opportunity to observe numerous oral arguments at both the Michigan Court of Appeals and Michigan Supreme Court.

Stephanie is licensed to practice in all state courts in Michigan.
