GOOD NEWS FOR TRAFFIC STOP OF MEDICAL MARIHUANA PATIENT RESULTS IN POSSESSION OF MARIHUANA CHARGES

By Michael Nichols
Categories: Medical Marijuana

A client of the Nichols Law Firm received good news today.  Attorney Joshua Covert called to inform the client that the state of Michigan will not be authorizing charges for possession of marihuana.  The client came to the Nichols Law Firm after a traffic stop where our client informed the officer that he was in possession of approximately 1 ounce of marihuana.  The client was a medical marihuana patient yet did not have his medical marihuana card in his immediate possession at the time of the traffic stop.

After months of working with the prosecution attorney Joshua Covert was able to demonstrate to the prosecution that the client was protected under the Michigan Medical Marihuana Act.  The client now can go on using the medical marihuana medicine as recommended to him by a Doctor.  “The best part for the client is that he didn’t even have to appear before a judge to receive the protections that were provided by the voters in 2008”  says attorney Joshua Covert.  If you are a medical marihuana patient and have been charged with possession or are being investigated for possession, call the Nichols Law Firm and speak with an attorney who is familiar with medical marihuana.  (517)432-9000.
