Lansing Beer Week starts June 21st, 2013. That means an event every night through June 29th for beer-lovers to enjoy their favorite beer or try others. “You should have a safe way home before you even go out” warns Lansing OWI attorney Mike Nichols of Meridian Township. Nichols adds, “it will be very hard to stop or measure your BAC level, because many of the beers that will be available are going to have a higher alcohol content thus, they count as more than just one drink.” The events for the week are: http://lansingbeerweek.com/ or see the facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LansingBeerWeek.
Nichols and the team of lawyers at the Nichols Law Firm also warn people who are currently on probation that this may be a week when the probation office calls you in for an “extra” test or other monitoring. Nichols says “the ‘nighthawk’ program at 55th District Court for example may be very active this week. If you are in sobriety court you best make sure you are home and in your own bed and sober because you should assume that the police team for this program will ‘drop in’ on you.”
The attorneys at the Nichols Law Firm, PLLC each focus a major part of their practice on drunk and drugged driving defense in East Lansing, Lansing and throughout the state. Mike Nichols, Wendy Schiller-Nichols, Karen Phillips and Josh Covert will all be available throughout the weekend and week of “beer week” in the event that you are caught in the web of the law enforcement crackdown on drunk driving.
