A leading Michigan legal publication has announced what everyone knew all along: Mike Nichols is a “Super Lawyer.” Nichols was named a SuperLawyer for Criminal/DUI by Michigan SuperLawyers magazine, published by Thompson Reuters West. This is the 3rd straight year Nichols has been named to the publication.
Mike Nichols has a statewide practice that concentrates on DUI/DUID-defense including medical marijuana patients who drive. The practice “The Nichols Law Firm” is based in East Lansing. Nichols lives nearby in Meridian Township with his wife and law partner Wendy Schiller-Nichols and their daughter. Nichols also teaches “DUI Law and Practice” at Cooley Law School and “Forensic Evidence” at Cooley. He graduated from the Cooley “2-night a week program” in 1999 after working his way through law school while he was a news reporter at WILX TV and the Michigan Radio Network. His practice has been based in the Lansing area for his entire 14 year career.
Nichols wrote the “Michigan OWI Handbook” for West Publishing in 2009 and updated it every year since. The book is a guide for lawyers in Michigan practicing DUI. It is published with the Gillespie Series. Nichols also co-authored several chapters on Mass Spectrometry and scientific measurements, most recently “Measuring Nothing” with California attorney Jeremy Brehmer. Mr. Brehmer is also a designated “rising star” for California (http://www.kerncountylaw.com/Attorney-Bios.aspx).
Nichols also writes a monthly column “Mens Rea” for the Ingham County Legal News. Nichols is licensed to practice in all state and federal courts. He completed 2 marathons, the most recent of which was the inaugural Lansing Marathon in 2012. http://www.nicholslawyers.com
