Mike Nichols Again Leading the Way in Forensic Evidence in Criminal Cases; Will Present at the 2014 American Academy of Forensic Sciences Annual Conference

 East Lansing attorney Mike Nichols, a leader in dui-criminal defense will present at the 2014 American Academy of Forensic Science in Seattle Washington. Nichols, a resident of Meridian Township will take part in a workshop on science in the courtroom. Nichols will also be among 3 presenters in a short presentation on gas chromatography/mass spectrometry and the shortcomings of this method in detecting drugs at very small quantities. The conference runs from February 16-23, 2014.

"I am honored and privileged to have these opportunities," says Nichols. Nichols is an associate member of the AAFS Jurisprudence section. Nichols also recently completed a chapter entitled "measuring nothing" for Aspatore Publishing on the failures of forensic measurements to detect low levels of drugs. Nichols also recently updated the Michigan OWI Handbook, the practice book on drunk driving defense by West Publishing. The book update is scheduled for release by Thanksgiving, 2014.

Nichols is the Michigan delegate for the National College for DUI Defense and Secretary of the Michigan Association of OWI Attorneys.
