Driving While on Medications is the New Push by Michigan State Police

By Michael Nichols
Categories: Michael J. Nichols, Drunk-Driving, OWI

Michigan Drugged-Drunk driving attorney Mike Nichols of Meridian Township is fighting legislation that goes over the line to prosecute people who take their medicine.

House Bill 5385 was passed by the Judiciary Committee on May 15, 2014. The Bill was amended after opponents like Mike Nichols led the charge about the overreaching of the Bill.  The Bill was passed by a Committee and sent to the House and it now includes a 2.7 infraction for anyone who refuses to take the field sobriety tests including implement a test. However, there is no reference in the bill to roadside saliva testing.
