Mike Nichols and the Nichols Law Firm say "NO" to consent for a search of your cell phone or other device

The new ban on texting takes effect on July 1st. The law allows police officers to request your consent to search your phone but they cannot seek a warrant to view your device. In other words, just say “no.” View the latest Michigan State Police Legal Update advising officers on the matter.
