Recent fatal accidents in Eaton County and other areas around Michigan highlight the need to make sure you are insured, that your coverage is up-to-date and that you have enough coverage to protect you if tragedy strikes. Lansing attorney Wendy Schiller-Nichols, who focuses on personal injury and auto accident cases says: "did you know that if your insurance is expired and you are in an accident, you are barred from filing a lawsuit even if you are the victim of an at-fault driver? You should make sure that your coverage is not only in effect but up-to-date as welll."
Eaton County Sheriff's Office are investigating a rollover crash that occurred Monday evening, August 3rd at approximately 6:30 p.m. on northbound Interstate 69, just south of Five Point Highway. The victims were riding in an SUV that rolled several times after entering the median and ejected both occupants of the vehicle. One of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene and the other victim perished after being taken to Sparrow Hospital. Authorities have yet to release whether either victim had been wearing their seatbelt at the time of the accident.
