In 2 Weeks - Sweeping Changes to Michigan's No Fault Auto Insurance Law Take Effect - What to Expect

By Michael Nichols
Categories: Personal Injury

When he is not working his business interruption cases and helping teach his first grade daughter, our associate Matthew Heos is going through the no provisions of the No-Fault Insurance Law. You will notice when you renew or shop for insurance that your agent has to go through new forms for you and with you to verify certain aspects of your medical coverage options.

Matt's advice: spring for the unlimited Personal Injury Protection (PIP) benefits. It is a critical investment. He will conduct consultations with you at no charge to help address your questions.

The new Michigan No-Fault insurance law goes into effect July 2, 2020. What you will find different is the options of coverage for PIP benefits being offered by your insurance carrier. If you are not careful, you may choose a policy that does not provide adequate coverage for your needs.

You may still purchase the unlimited medical coverage which I recommend. If you are injured in a crash and have surgery which requires one week in the hospital plus rehabilitation; your likely medical expenses will exceed $100,000.00.

Injuries sustained in motor vehicle crashes last a lifetime. The unlimited option is the only option that will provide the coverage you or your family members will need because insurance caps only benefit insurers. The tragedy is that the early predictions of savings were illusory for some Michigan motorists in certain areas.

Protect you family for the long term and get the unlimited option if you can. Some motorists will be enticed with the allure of savings, but that savings does not add up if you or your loved ones are injured in a car crash and need serious medical attention.

The Nichols Law Firm is here to help you make this choice.
